  Thank god we found the At Rest Pet Crematorium owned by the lovely Lorraine & Martin, this is such beautiful establishment. Our 15 year old boy was euthanized on the 26th of Feb 2018 and having never gone through this before, we wasn't sure what to do, although we knew we wanted to have him cremated. We were overcome with such grief and bewilderment that we agreed for the vets to have someone come and collect him on the 30th of Feb to take him to a pet crematorium miles away. After doing a Google search we became unsettled at the thought of him potentially being put in the back of a van, in a bag and probably with other dogs and clinical waste; our hearts were heavy with the thought of it.
  
  In the meantime i made the decision to visit him daily, before we had even realised that the At Rest Pet Crematorium had opened. It was heart wrenching seeing him lay there on a cold metal table with his little blanket over him .
  
  The day before he was to be collected we happened to mention to the veterinary nurse that we just wished the Pet Crematorium in Sutton-in-Ashfield had opened, as we had read about it in the Chad months before. She explained it had opened that very same week and passed us their contact details.
  
  We went straight out to our car and spoke with Lorraine. We felt like a huge weight had been lifted and they said that they would collect our boy that very same afternoon and take him to their establishment. As soon as they had collected him we were informed and arranged to visit our boy the following morning, where we were met by Martin & Lorraine. We had an informal chat telling them about our time with our boy and all the happy times we had shared with him and they also shared memories of their dog who had also sadly died.
  
  We were immediately able to build rapport with them - they understood us and could relate to how we were feeling. We were then shown into the beautiful and peaceful farewell room where we were able to spend time on our own with our boy in a dignified way, it was everything and more than we could of wished for. He was in a lovely comfy bed, wrapped with a warm blanket and holding a beautiful white rose between his paws.
  
  We can't thank Martin & Lorraine enough for all that they did for us! Thank you for taking care of our boy Albert. You have a lovely place and the rooms are beautiful. We felt that you really cared and helped us to feel at ease by providing a a very calm, relaxing and peaceful place.
  
  When you lose your best friend you want the very best for them. When that awful day comes, this is where you should go!

  I recently lost my best friend Ruby, a 15 year old Springer spaniel. My wife and I wanted the best for her as she was laid to rest. We didn't want to use the services that most of the veterinary clinics generally use and opted for a private service.
  
  We came across At Rest through my wife's work and after looking at what they could do for Ruby decided that they would be the best people to look after her.
  
  We contacted them over a bank holiday and expected them to be unavailable, they were not and came back to us promptly. They explained all the options and services with the great care and compassion as I'm sure they knew I wasn't taking it in due to grieving.
  
  They collected Ruby the next day from the practice and game us updates throughout. We were given options to view my little lady which we declined. They held on to Ruby as we had opted not to have same day cremation, she was in a chilled room and not a freezer which was what we wanted.
  
  We decided that we didn't want to be present for the cremation but again it was lovely to have the option and we had updates on her journey.
  
  When we went to collect her, It was a lovely touch to be met by both Lorraine and Martin, we were seated in a lovely relaxing room and they guided us through Rubys final journey. We were particularly touched by them telling us how they had talked to her throughout.
  
  I can't thank them both enough for the help and support they offered our family in which is a devastating time for all, I cannot articulate how much I would recommend them for their services and many options they give a grieving family.
